Back in the day two coffee enthusiasts found themselves captivated by the allure of specialty coffee. With our desire to learn and a commitment to excellence, we delved into the art of coffee roasting, eager to explore the endless possibilities hidden within each bean.

Our journey began with a roasting education under the guidance of seasoned expert Anne Cooper, igniting a spark that would soon evolve into a business venture. Armed with newfound skills and inspiration we established our first coffee roasting business, Hills Coffee Co. in the Dandenong Ranges, Melbourne, Victoria. For more than two years, we poured ourselves into crafting exceptional coffees and fostering connections within our community.

Then, arrived a global pandemic. As the world grappled with uncertainty, we held fast in our commitment to our craft and our community, a beacon amongst months of isolation. Embracing adaptability and resilience, we navigated the challenges, realising the importance of local support and the power of perseverance. Driven by a desire to give back we launched a free delivery service, ensuring that our coffee could be enjoyed by all. We joined in on community events and facilitated charity donations for every purchase ensuring that any impact went beyond the world of coffee.

After a little burn-out, a move interstate, and a short break that turned into a long break, we are back. As we prepare to embark on a new chapter, we decided to rebrand our business, ushering in a fresh era of innovation and creativity. Inspired by the timeless allure of music and the joy of shared experiences, we chose the name Record Coffee Roasting. Built around the iconic record player, evoking feelings of warmth, familiarity, and nostalgia.

Like the tracks on a vinyl record, our coffee offerings are categorised into two sides. Side A features popular flavour profiles, perfect for those seeking comfort and familiarity. Meanwhile, the Side B offers more adventurous, experimental and luxurious coffees, catering to the daring and the curious.

As we look to the future, our vision is clear. We aspire to create not just exceptional coffee, but meaningful connections and lasting memories. With each cup, we aim to share our passion, our creativity, and our love for specialty coffee and the many remarkable people responsible for making it happen along the way. 

And so, our journey continues, fuelled by a shared passion, an unwavering commitment to excellence.. and caffeine. Together with the good folks of the Margaret River Region, we write the next chapter in the story of Record Coffee Roasting.
